lyrics
Only love can cure me now
No other passions can match the sound
Of hearts so free when closely bound
Yes, only love can cure me now
I’ve been searching for a heart of gold
I had one once, but to my knowledge it’s been sold
I’ve sought its essence in the wrong places I’ve been told
Oh, I’ll always search for my fragile heart of gold
I once had a lover; a stepping stone to happiness
Left to the others; an unforeseen stray from bliss
But it’s all the better, for pain knows to comfort in moments like this
Though I’ll always wonder just exactly why that is
I’ve found I can’t cherish the things that I love
I attempt to do them justice, but it’s never quite enough
They’re all the chains that I had to be freed of
So that I can be among the people that I love
I’ve been many places, I’ve wandered across the land
I’ve been greeted by many faces with fake smiles through a shake of hands
And I’m glad I found a place with no need to pretend
Oh I’ve found my own niche among the land
And in my life, oh where is it even going?
Do I need all this knowledge just to keep this little brain growing?
Well, I once was a bean, but then I began to sprout
And find that only love can cure me now
